Alan was born in China and educated in Australia, and has been investing for over seven years. Given the local networks and cultural/linguistic advantages (English & Chinese, including multiple dialects), he takes on the responsibilities for China, Northern Asia, and new economy. With his mathematical and programming skills, he also supports the team with idea generation and risk management. 

Prior to OxCap, Alan worked at Platinum Asset Management in the Asia team, where he made several successful investments like Meituan, Li Ning, Kingsoft, etc. before they were discovered. Before his journey in equities investing, he worked for Citi’s trading desk and Huatai’s FICC division, primarily developing hedging strategies and derivatives pricing. While completing his degree, he was also teaching economics and econometrics at UNSW. 

Alan holds a Bachelor of Actuarial Science and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales.
