Jim Zelter is Co-President of Apollo, co-leading its day-to-day operations including all of the Firm’s revenue-generating businesses and enterprise solutions across its integrated alternative investment platform. Jim serves on the Firm’s Leadership Team and on the Firm’s Board of Directors.

Since joining Apollo in 2006, Jim has led the broad expansion of Apollo’s credit platform, which now oversees over $350 billion in assets under management and supports the growth of businesses of all sizes across the globe. Jim also Co-Founded the Apollo Women Empower (AWE), the Firm’s women’s network. Prior to Apollo, Jim was with Citigroup Inc. and its predecessor companies in a variety of roles including Chief Investment Officer of Citigroup Alternative Investments. Before joining Citigroup, he was a high-yield trader at Goldman Sachs.

Jim earned his degree in Economics from Duke University. He sits on the board of directors of Duke University, DUMAC, the investment management company that oversees the Duke University Endowment, the Partnership for New York City, a non-profit organization that helps solve public challenges, create jobs and strengthen neighborhoods throughout the five borough and serves on the Board of Fellows of Weill Cornell Medicine, one of the leading academic medical centers in the United States. He is also board of directors of Toigo, an organization focused on building stronger, more diverse organizations through the inclusion and advancement of under-represented talent and the Bridge Golf Foundation, which is committed to using the game of golf to improve life outcomes for young men of color in Harlem, New York.
